Cookies Vs. Doughnuts :: essays research papers
Cookies and doughnuts are both yummy treats, but they also have their advantages and disadvantages. Cookies for instance can be produces with relative ease in any kitchen using flour, water, sugar and eggs. Doughnuts on the other hand are not usually made at home, hence all of the doughnut shops. This is one disadvantage to doughnuts; they are relatively difficult to produce. Doughnuts are made from the same ingredients as cookies, but they also have east in them to give them a more beadlike quality than unleavened cookies. Cookies are traditionally made by combining the ingredients listed and adding something like chocolate or nuts. The cookies are then baked at around 375 degrees for about eight minutes or until they are golden brown. They are then allowed to cool and then they are served. Doughnuts are not as simple as coolies. The dough must be prepared using flour, water, eggs, and then another ingredient; yeast, to add the tiny air pockets that make the dough rise and to make them so edible. After the dough has risen, it can be shaped into the familiar ring shape either by rolling it into snake-like portions or, more commonly, spreading the dough thickly over a flat surface using a device not unlike a cookie cutter. The popular doughnut shop, Krispy Kreme à ® has developed a doughnut extrusion process that results in their distinctive rosette shape with curved vertical ridges on the sides. After the dough is shaped, it is cooked using hot oil or fat. This oil is at a much higher temperature than that used to bake cookies. The dough is then cooked to produce a golden-brown crust on the outside while still maintaining a soft core. Sugar may then be applied. This consists of little more than putting sugar and flavoring on the outside of the doughnut in the form of icing, powered sugar, or a glaze which is which is a shell of sugar coating the doughnut. Cake doughnuts are also produced this way using fewer eggs to give them a less airy, more cake-like texture. Adding fruit or nuts to the dough before cooking can change this process, or jelly or custard may be added after cooking through injection.

American Idiot Essay
The song that I chose to write about is titled American Idiot by Green Day. This song was on Green Dayââ¬â¢s album titled American Idiot. This album was originally released in 2004. American Idiot, the song, peaked at number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100. My reason for choosing this song is that it talks about how the media runs society and how people shouldnââ¬â¢t let the media run their lives. The main social issue that is talked about in this song is how the media runs our lives and society. One of the lines in the song is ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t wanna be an American idiot, one nation controlled by the media. â⬠This line refers to how people in America rely heavily on the media for everything. They trust every word that is printed in a newspaper or magazine or said on television without question. People hang on every word that is pumped through the media. I donââ¬â¢t consider this to be a personal problem because it refers to all people being controlled by the media. It is not as if the singer in the song is the only one that the media affects. Media is worldwide ways of letting people know what is going on around them. What Billy Joe Armstrong is saying throughout this song is that people need to realize is that not everything that a person hears is necessarily true and people should not panic just because of what the news says. Green Day is an American rock band that was formed in 1987. the group consists of three members: Billy Joe Armstrong(vocals), Tre` Cool(drums), and Mike Dirnt(bass). In 1988, they signed to Lookout Records and then in 1989 they released their first EP titled 1,000 Hours. However, the band didnââ¬â¢t have much success until it released the album Kerplunk in 1993. After Kerplunkââ¬â¢s success, Green Day proceeded to leave Lookout Records and sign with Reprise Records. In 1994, they released their first major label debut, Dookie. Over the next few years, Green Day would have much success but then decided to take a break in 1996. They returned in 1997. When they returned, they began to work on a new full-length album. This album was entitled Nimrod and was released in October of 1997. This album deviated from their normally pop-punk style of music and gave listeners a variety of music. They didnââ¬â¢t release another album until 2000 when they released Warning which further continued their new sound that they started with Nimrod. After releasing Warning, they were nominated for 8 awards in the California Music Awards. They won all eight awards. The band then continued their success over the next few years. In 2004 the band released American Idiot. And then in 2006 they won the Grammy for record of the year because of the track Boulevard of Broken Dreams which spent 16 weeks at the top of the charts. The lyrics to American Idiot are as follows: ââ¬Å"Donââ¬â¢t wanna be an American idiot. Donââ¬â¢t want a nation under the new mania. And can you hear the sound of hysteria? The subliminal mindfuck America. Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alienation. Everything isnââ¬â¢t meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. Weââ¬â¢re not the ones whoââ¬â¢re meant to follow. For thatââ¬â¢s enough to argue. Well maybe Iââ¬â¢m the faggot America. Iââ¬â¢m not a part of a redneck agenda. Now everybody do the propaganda. And sing along in the age of paranoia. Donââ¬â¢t wanna be an American idiot. One nation controlled by the media. Information age of hysteria. Itââ¬â¢s calling out to idiot America. Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alienation. Everything isnââ¬â¢t meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. Weââ¬â¢re not the ones whoââ¬â¢re meant to follow. For thatââ¬â¢s enough to argue. ââ¬

A Brief Note On Legislative Branch And Executive Branch
Hi, my name is Legislative Branch. I was born in 1787, when my founders needed to make a set of rules to govern the nation. My founders wanted to protect the citizens, and prevent government abuse. They figured out a solution, divided up the government, and wrote the Constitution. Thatââ¬â¢s how I have two siblings, Judicial Branch and Executive Branch. There needed to be a plan to divide the power. My aunt Virginia had a plan. The plan was to divide the legislature into two houses. In one house the people would elect the members for a three year term. The second house would be made up of older members chosen by the state legislature for a seven year term. With both of these houses, the population would depend on the seating. A little bitâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Then, there is my house, The Senate. This house in my favorite. In this house there are two members from all fifty states, so there are one hundred members. The members are chosen by state legislatures, and have six- year terms. The Vice President plays the role of President in the Senate when there is a tie while voting. The main powers this house has it to accept Presidentââ¬â¢s appointments, and ratify treaties. There were some very important people in my houses. Such as, Richard Bassett. Richard served in the military during the Revolutionary War, and succeed as a lawyer and planter. Richard attended the Constitution, but had no contact with anything. Eventually Richard, the good man he was, hopped into the Senate house. He voted for the power of the President to be able to remove governmental officers, and voted against the federal belief of state debt. Bassett held the chief justiceship of the courts of common pleas. Eventually he became the governor of Delaware, and retired. There was another great man, but in the House of Representatives. His name is Jonathan Dayton. Dayton served in the military, and spent most of his time on legal speculation, and politics. He was chosen as a member to be at the Constitutional Convention. After the Convention, Dayton became a Federalist legislator. Jonathan became the Speaker of the House, in both, the Fourth and Fifth Congress. Besides Oneself On the Limits of Sexual Autonomy
A livable world is defined from the society you participate in everyday life. We as people make laws and regulations for situations that may or may not happen. This is because humans are imperfect and full of flaws. Laws and regulations are the guidelines for properly living in a society that dictates to the mass instead of hearing individual concern. Then again what is it meant to be ââ¬Å"imperfectâ⬠? Who designates the description behind being perfect? This is what I believe is ââ¬Å"the normâ⬠or normal way of life of a society. In the essay by Judith Butler, Besides Oneself: On the Limits of Sexual Autonomy, she describes the social norms of society slowly changing and designing new social norms of society by the awareness of Gays,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Therefore judgments are formed. Influences are formed. Butler says ââ¬Å"We have an interesting political predicament, since most of the time when we hear about ââ¬Å"rights,â⬠we understand them as pertaining to individuals, or when we argue for protection against discrimination, we argue as a group or a class.â⬠(Page 241). I agree with this statement. This statement reflects the reasoning why societies that we find ourselves in are the way they are. I believe this statement means more than what is read. I believe this is why individuals who are not accepted by society are the ones who are misunderstood by society. People who are gay, lesbian, or transgendered do not have the same rights and same pre-judgment that is formed from someone who is accepted in society than a heterosexual person. However gays, lesbian, and transgender express political views and ideas just as a heterosexual person who is accepted by society expresses their political views. Sexual orientation is the only reason gays, lesbians, and transgend er are not accepted by society. Butler says ââ¬Å"We ask that the state, for instance, keep its laws off our bodies, and we call for principles of bodily self-defense and bodily integrity to be accepted as political goods. Yet, it is through the body that gender and sexuality are exposed to others, implicated inShow MoreRelatedThe Importance Of A Women And The Hierarchy Of A Male1639 Words à |à 7 Pageswho she is instead of being depending on a man to conform to. Remembering A Forgotten War By Donald R. Essay - 1357 Words
Name Tutor Course Date Book review Remembering a Forgotten war by Donald R. Hickey 2012, an academic journal, talks about the military history where by people were subjected to a difficult and different lifestyle than the one they were used too at that time. The journal explains in details how James Madison and other citizens in the state experienced harsh situations brought upon them by the Republican repugnance which was fee payment. The residents had to pay some money like the infrastructure fee tax, loans, standing military and also pay some to the national bank, a routine they were not used too. These rules affected peopleââ¬â¢s lives and disrupted their life style living conditions causing them to share Thomas Jeffersonââ¬â¢s faith which clearly stated that ââ¬Å"an untrained military force could easily conquer them in case they did not better the training of their militia or even administrationâ⬠. The major event that occurred was the forceful act of unfair fee payment people were subjected to and how they reacted to the situation. Jeffersonââ¬â¢s disregard for the armyââ¬â¢s supply caused a greater impact that could be further felt more significantly as a method for the War of 1812 than the creation of the Military Training Academy. This happened when he together with his successor refused to negotiate with the Britons on realistic terms. You read "Tasks For Businesses Starting Foreign Operation Economics Essay" in category "Essay examples"and there are many factors company has to maintain in head before they enter India and some of the factors and been here and I have tried to pest analyses on it and explicate it Political Factors ââ¬â India is the biggest democracy in the World. The authorities type is federal democracy. Based on English common jurisprudence ; judicial reappraisal of legislative Acts of the Apostless ; accepts compulsory ICJ legal power with reserves ; separate personal jurisprudence codifications apply to Muslims, Christians, and Hindus. The political Situation in the state is more or less stable. For most of its democratic history, the federal Government of India has been led by the Indian National Congress ( INC ) . State political relations have been dominated by several national parties including the INC, the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) , the Communist Party of India ( CPI ) , and assorted regional parties. In the 2004 Indian elections, the INC won the largest figure of Lok Sabha seats and formed a authorities with a alliance called the United Progressive Alliance ( UPA ) , supported by assorted left-leaning parties and members opposed to the BJP. Overall India p resently has a alliance led authorities and both major political parties the UPA and BJP, whichever comes in power. Economic Factors ââ¬â The economic factors in India are bettering continuously. The GDP ( Buying Power Parity ) is estimated at 2.965 trillion U.S. dollars in the twelvemonth 2007. The GDP- per Capita ( PPP ) was 2700 U.S. dollars as estimated in 2007. The GDP- existent growing rate in 2007 was 8.7 % . India has the 3rd highest GDP in footings of buying power para merely in front Japan and behind U.S. and China. Foreign direct investing rose in the financial twelvemonth ended March 31 2007 to about $ 16 billion from merely $ 5.5 billion a twelvemonth before. There is a uninterrupted growing in per capita income ; India ââ¬Ës per capita income is expected to make 1000 dollars by the terminal of 2007-08 from 797 dollars in 2006-07. This will take to higher purchasing power in the Hands of the Indian consumers.A Social ââ¬â India is the 2nd most thickly settled state in the universe with an approximative population of over 1.1billion people. This population is divided in the undermentioned age construction: 0-14 old ages ââ¬â 31.8 % , 15-64 old ages ââ¬â 63.1 % and 65 old ages and above ââ¬â 5.1 % . There has besides been a uninterrupted addition in the ingestion of beer in India. With an addition in the buying power the Indian consumer which preferred local hard spirits which is far cheaper is now able to acquire a gustatory sensation of the comparatively expensive beer market. The societal tendency toward beer ingestion is altering and India has seen an addition of 90 % beer ingestion from the twelvemonth 2002- 2007. This addition is far greater than the addition in the BRIC states of Brazil ( 20 per cent ) , Russia ( 50 per cent ) and China ( about 60 per cent ) . Thus this shows a positive tendency for beer industries in India.Technology ââ¬â The Indian beer Industry is heating up with a batch of foreign participants come ining the Indian market. The technological knowhow and expertness will besides come in the Indian market with an addition in competition. For illustration beer brewing engineering major Ziemann has entered India and has set up fabrication works in India. Ziemann Group, based in Ludwigsburg near Stuttgart in Germany, has founded Ziemann India. It will get down production in 2008. This will assist convey in technological knowhow and increase the production of beer. SABMiller has merely placed an order for the design and building of two prison guard workss in India to Ziemann. The new workss are planned for Sonipat in Haryana and for another location near Bangalore. Both breweries will hold an one-year capacity of 1 milllion hectolitres each in the beginning and might be extended subsequently. Thus with European engineering come ining the Indian beer market increased production and take downing cost of production could play a major function in the Indian beer market. The OLI Model are the different theories like Ownership: The Indian market provides good ownership chances for Inbev India Internat ional private limited. The Government policies on FDI are loosen uping and companies like Carlsberg has besides invested in breweries in India. Besides cost of fabrication and brewing beer in India is much cheaper. The cost of natural stuff and labour in India is inexpensive therefore giving Inbev India a good opportunity of cut downing cost of production. The fact that European companies are puting up workss in India to fabricate brewing engineering means that in the hereafter Inbev could hold ownership of these engineerings at a much cheaper rate as compared to when bought in other markets. Location: There are a batch of location specific advantages for Inbev India International Private Limited. The Indian beer Industry is all set to heat up with the Indian market ââ¬Ës compound one-year growing rate ( CAGR ) of 6.7 % from 2002 to 2006. The beer market volume is set to lift to 1155 million litres by 2011 an addition of 37.4 % from 2006. North India is basking beer like neââ¬â¢er earlier. During the first one-fourth of 2006, about 5 million instances of beer were sold in Punjab and Haryana as against 600,000 instances in Q1 of 2005-06. This was the instance because the authorities has revised its policy in these provinces and there is an betterment in the distribution channels in these countries. India is besides expected to go the 2nd largest beer market in Asia by 2020 merely after China. Thus all these factors along with India holding adjacent states like Nepal and Sri Lanka, where beer could be exported through India gives Inbev India a good Location advantage. A Internalization: Inbev India International Private Limited would desire to hold internalisation because over a period of clip it would lose out on a competitory border in the part if it merely sticks to exporting and non FDI investing. As other houses would come in and develop their substructure and distribution channel, therefore able to bring forth at with low costs. India besides is a immense potency market as mentioned earlier and Inbev would non desire to lose out on the chance it can supply. Besides since there is a batch of ruddy tapism and contractual jobs while exporting etc. It would be better to be in India instead than export. Lesbian and health issue
Question: Discuss about the Lesbian and health issue. Answer: Social Determinants of Depression and Anxiety among Lesbians Often scientists have studied the relationship between social inequality and health inequality to evaluate the risk factors related to health status of individuals. Public policies have played an important role in tackling the social inequalities and related health inequalities in a population (Liang et al., 2012). In most developing countries and in some developed countries nonheterosexual behaviors are devalued and looked upon with negative attitude. In general, youths and adolescents face immense mental stress due to psychological transformations; in case of lesbian youths the condition is further worsened due to discrimination and a sense of minority in the society (Logie, 2012). Homophobia, perceived stigma and discrimination are the risk factors that often lead to increased anxiety and suicidality among the sexual minorities. Similar to gender, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation is proved to be one of the factors for the distribution of health and well-being among a population (Hoy-Ellis, 2015). Health care provided to lesbians is also negatively affected due to lack of exposure and prevalence of misunderstanding of their medical and psychiatric conditions. One study explored how social support from family and friends, relationships and orientation disclosure relate to depression among a group of lesbians (Baams, Grossman Russell, 2015). A culture is often defined broadly as a collection of activities followed by a group of people, which inevitably distinguishes themselves from other social groups. It may involve sharing of symbols, following different sets of personalities and values. Consequently every society in human history has produced gender cultures. Along with evolution of feminism in the late 20th century lesbian culture has undergone a great deal of evolution (Cooper, 2013). The lesbian culture includes works historical and contemporary artists and political figures, understanding of the social movement carried out by the community, distinct figures and identities. Due to discrimination towards the minority group often such cultures prove to deteriorate the quality of healthcare they deserve. Lesbians who follow lesbian culture without inhibition often suffer from lack of familial and social support, which even extrapolates to healthcare professionals (Fuss, 2013).
